DVX100a Zoom control: Suggestions

keithsoucy, the Manfrotto remote is by design limited to the DVX´s inherent zoom servo performance. If your DVX can´t initiate or terminate a zoom smoothly (which is true in my case), there´s no way for your zoom remote to do that. There´s a slight lag in my Manfrotto 521p which doesn´t bother me very much, though. All in all, I like the 521p.

i was hoping the digital version would help. You think?

My on-camera zoom performs much better than when using the 521p. It has smoother starts. I was hoping to get a controller that performed at least as well as the camera.

Just bought the manfrota 521p and I'm not very happy with it. Not very smooth at the starts. I'm trying to ship it back to b&h today (maybe get the next model up)

Update: I now have 3 dvx100a and sadly the Bogen control works great on 2 and not so good on 1.

Very strange. The camera zoom controls are smooth but for some reason the Bogen produces sticky starts.

It's definitely a camera issue though so the other 2 are fine. I recind my comments on the Bogen control. 2 thumbs up!
