The Mack warranty is actually transferrable but it takes time. To transfer the warranty, the original owner has to construct a letter to MACK and let them know they are selling the camera.

I think a lot of people are trying to capitalize on the HVX200, hoping that us DVX100 owners will need to dump our cameras in order to upgrade. And in some cases, this is happening -- I've seen a few DVX100s sell for cheap lately. I'm trying to offload my DVX100 original because it's a B camera and I don't need 3 cameras when my HVX arrives. But I also don't need the money (and it appears I'm not going to get much for it anyway), so I'll just keep it if nobody wants to suck it up and offer a decent price. Never know... Maybe having a spare DVX will save me on a project some day.

The price drop is temporary and IMO unfounded.

A new DVX is $3400 US / $4000 CAD

The HVX hitting the market does nothing to change that - As you said, people are looking for better then realistic deals. There are some out there but not for long.... Trying to find one for 2K is going to leave them paying more then they could have...

This guy is is not panic to sell. Next offer under $2400 gets a smack!
