DVX100a VS DVX100b

well, I am going to be filming action sports (bmx riding and skate boarding) and I was wondering if there is a difference between the censor, glass or image quality between the two cameras?

I have found some very mint 100a's for about 350 dollars less that the b model and I was wondering if the extra 350 is worth saving for my situation. I do not really feel I need the added tech features of the b, but if it has superior image quality I will go with it.

So are they equal in noise, glass, censor, and image quality? Could you tell the difference between footage from the counterparts?

Thnaks and any prompt help or comments will be greatly apretiated.

I had already read that but I just wanted some fellow consumers opinions with 1st hand experience and comparison.

My main question. IS THE VIDEO QUALITY THE SAME?

perfect, that is what I wanted to know. In that article it says it has less noise? I am assuming that is compared to the original dvx not the a?

can anyone verify this?

i've owned the dvxa and currently the b and i can tell you first hand that my dvx100b footage definitly shows less grain then the 100a

Get the B. I was on a shoot with both the A and B and there was a big difference.

Then again, I was operating the B....

The B freakin rocks. It has less noise and better extras, like improved menu, sturdier build, and lack of echo, and well as the kick butt LCD.

Jared,

The A model is the worst of the bunch for noise. The B is the best. The lens and sensor may be same, but the DSP has obviously been improved in the B model.

the original has better imaging? How so? Please elaborate?

Actually, by all stats it has more noise... but it's always seemed to have a more pleasing image to me.

It is my understanding that the DVX100b has improved sensors and a cleaner image. Also, it is full of handy user-friendly upgrades that fix all the problems of the previous models. The only downside to the DVX100b is that there is no interval recording, although I guess people just use DSLRs for timelapses these days anyhow...

I went with the A i don't know why but i did and after reading barry greens book which states all the "user friendly" differences i kind of wish i got the B but they both rock. mainly the non headphone out lag in 24p as well as controllable iris and shutter i think which you cannot do on the A, and a bunch of other "little" goodies most can appreciate.
