DVX100A vs. DVX100B Audio problem

Got a weird situation here.

I have a DVX 100A and a 100B.

I use a Panasonic GS-31 as a dump unit. (Mainly because both of the FW ports on the DVX's are dead)

When I capture the footage from a DVX100A Tape, the sound is fine.

When I capture the footage from a DVX100B Tape, the sound has a bunch of popping noises.

The heads are both clean, the recording settings are the same. Same type of tapes, NEW tapes.

I was wondering if anyone else had this issue. I don't THINK its the dump unit as it plays the 100A footage just fine.

:dankk2: in advance!

Yes... but both tapes were. I KNOW -- Dont record in LP. I take it that might make the difference on the 100B?

LP mode is strictly only for playing back on the same camera that made the recording. No DV camera, from any manufacturer, is guaranteed to play back LP mode from a tape made on any other DV camera.

DV SP mode is interchangeable, DV LP mode is not. Basically, it means you got lucky with the DVX100A tape, and typical with the DVX100B tape.
