Hey i currently have a Sony VX2000 and am looking to get a dvx100a for filming mostly skateboarding films and some short films. I was wondering if people could just say how the dvx is better camera and compare how the settings for instance whitebalance between the two, how the custom presets work on the dvx etc. ANy comments help thank you :)

If you want 24p technology then the DVX is the choice. The vx2000 dosen't have that option. Skate videos sure hell looks good in 24p. I used to own a vx1000 and well, its gone. I not trying to sound bias but from experience the DVX is bad ass.

how do you like the vx2000? Do you think mixing 30p footage from both the DVX and the VX2000, it would blend well?

i have both because my cam is a dxv and my schools cam is a vx2100. the dvx soars over the vx in resolution, but is not as good in low light. i would still go for the dvx, it looks a lot better even if you're just shooting 60i.

No. Don't trust that site. I've been down the same road you are going down... I was just lucky enough to stumble upon this site, steering me away from the unauthorized dealers. I suggest you go to the Panasonic website and find a dealer near you. I've heard EVS and B&H are great places to get your first DVX. Rush over at EVS offers a DVXuser.com discount, so i suggest you try them first. Good luck.

DVX100a hands down! Shouldn't even be in the same category. Buy it at EVS (ask for Rush), thats your best bet.

We sure do, but right now we don't have any used DVX100's. There just aren't any floating around, and usually they get snatched up in 24hrs. Sorry :)

You won't want to shoot skating in 24p, it's not good with that kind of motion, plus it severly limits your ability to slow mo. (Just think if someone busts a fatty 360 flip to blunt slide down a 30 foot rail, and you can only play at full speed. ;))
