Re: DVX100A or XL2?
<Whether or not 24p is merely a religion we have been raised on I cant think of any other 'format' that looks pleasing to the eye;>
me neither - but I think the changes I am waxing off about take place slowly. an evolutionary thing. like looking back at the way we wore our hair or dressed 20 years ago. i look at those photos now and can't believe what a dink I was and yet don't recall anything actually changing to bring me to the point i'm at now. i get the same feeling with certain movies - sometimes you walk away from a flick (and sometimes they aren't even that old) and you think: "huh, that didn't age well."
not that we will even think that about 24fps - just random thought and i like to hear the sound of my own voice...
but i'm sure that eventually enough quality feature film like projects will come out that aren't shot at 24fps that we will grow to accept it and eventually not even question it. (but only a fool would make a prediction like that..)
however, none of us may be alive when that day arrives as changes like that happen quite slowly.
<I love the scene where (isn't it) Slim Pickens rides the bomb down like a wild bronc. >
yeah, that's slim. what i didn't know about that scene is that peter sellers was origionally cast in that part but broke his ankle falling off the bomb. they cast slim because sellers could no longer climb into the cockpit. would have been fun to hear sellers doing that texas accent.
love them dvd extra features....
