DVX100a Noise on channel 2

I recently encounted a situation that produced a loud intermitent static noise on channel 2 on a 3 month old DVX100a. Parameters: 96 degrees....high humidity, no mic plugged into input. Seems to be isolated to volume control as it could be initiated by moving control. Situation cleared up after approx. 10 minutes. Not reproducable since. Any thoughts or similar encounters? tnx, Craig

Did you hear it on your headphones? I usually always get a loud feedback noise whenever I use my headphones, but it dosent record to tape - if the noise recorded to tape, then I suggest bringing it to your panasonic dealer
