There was much speculation about how high the price increase would be.

Today Panasonic announced the official retail price in the US.

It's $200 higher.

All talk of "should I get the current one or wait" is now just silly -- by all means get the "A". Its retail price is $3995, vs. the $3795 of the existing DVX.

Expected delivery should be within about two weeks, and there should be plenty of units available.

Thanks, Barry! First real confirmation, or as real as it can get, aside from an offical web page update on Panasonic's website. Could you also verify for us whether the current crop of NLEs with 24p support will work with the AG-DVX100A? I don't see why not but just in case...

Oh, it's real all right -- it came directly from Steve Golub, the product manager for the DVX100. He's the final authority on all things DVX in the Panasonic world.

Yep, nothing like that has changed, everything will work just like it always has...
