DVX100A Mic choices...

So I bought my DVX100A used a month ago, and just realized that it was missing the mic attachment. I did some reasearch and I know these things can be bought, but can be pricey for the little piece. Are there any solutions for an external mic that I can mount on to the DVX? Also, what are the best mics, but hopefully doesn't cost too much $$$, that I can purchase for my camera?
 
RODE NTG2...thats what I have and love it. The package I bought from B&H was like $549, but it came with the mic, all the cables, shock mount, boom pole, fuzzy, and respective cases.

If you got that, you could get the shock mount and mount it in the hot shoe. It's actually better because it keeps the microphone condenser from shaking when the camera shakes (hence, creating noise).
 
Depending on the budget you have NTG is a good choice, but I have used an Azden SG2X for over a year with good results. The shock mount and mic pkg. is less than $250.
 
I have the Azden SGM-1X and its was like $100 bucks...turn on the bass roll and it sounds pretty damn good (dialogue sounds great with it for interviews). Thats something I would highly recommend.
