DVX100A Manual Mode Shooting?

Well, are you sooting auto by pressing the auto button, or by setting everything to auto? Make sure when you turn it on that you do not press the auto button, and you have to set everything to manual. You can press the iris button to go to manual iris, switch the white balance to A or B, etc...

Basically, you need to know that the iris controls the amount of light entering the camera, and is controlled by the dial.

White balance interprets the color of light. In order to white balance, you must find a plain white surface, zoom in on it and then hold down the AWB button on the front. If it too bright or too dark, you just need to adjust it.

Since the monitors on the camera aren't properly calibrated, I recommend using the zebra bar function. Zebras are not recorded and they just display bars over overexposed parts of your image.
