DVX100a Joe Answer

I spent alot of time lining up my shots for this...........I'm happy with the way its coming around. I'll probably finish it tomorrow or the next day.

I still have to add voice over so it'll make sense but right now its just a cool little montage of clips I thought looked really cool. I love some of these shots......especially him on the carousel.

This is alaska in the summer people and its georgeous. I shot all this with the Gain turned up on high and it shows in the full rez versions. But I don't have time to reshoot so I gotta live with it.

So rip into it......you got two days before its due.

nice work... one thing that jumped at me right away was a shot of him resting on what looks like a bridge at, let's say, 6:30pm then the next shot he walks passed a blue wall and the sun light looks like it's 4pmish.

The sun light is different. Maybe you should switch the two scenes?

I would like to know what he is looking for! It looked good, I liked the shot where he was on that fountain thing. The shot with the guy on the bench threw me off, because his head was cut off. The INT. shot looked more video like to me(was it 24P also). I would like to see it again when you add the VO.

Very nice, bob. I like the mood of the video. It's fun and light. Some great shots and clean cuts. Was that the end? Was he searching for the Internet? Are you going to place a screenshot of DVXuser at the very end? :)

Looks good. I noticed when hes standing on the bridge it looks like the tripod gets bumped right at the end of the shot.

nice clean images, good job

I noticed that he was wearing glasses at the computer, then there is a cut to a MCU where is isn't where them anymore

Yeah I was wondering who would catch the glasses. He kept needing to put them on to see in between shots and we forgot about them, then we remembered them, and I was wondering if anyone else would notice in the edit, apparently you do. The tripod bump has already been addressed I noticed it this morning, my bad.

The shot on the bridge is definitely not one of my favorites, it just breaks up the thing. I'm tryin to see if I can exclude it (it was shot two hours later, at about 8:30).

I'm having trouble with the VO because I don't sound cool enough :) but I'll still post it when its done, and that way you can see what he's looking for. Thanks for the comments guys.

Nice job Bob. You know this truley has a nice cinema feel to it; the score is light hearted and serves to motivate the short montage. The bridge is a great shot and my interest is piqued as well; whats he looking at and where is he going? Keep it coming and keep shooting!

I have been to Alaska (Kodiak, Adak and DH) in the Summer and wow; completly beautiful. (And in the Winter; yikes)

Well, its almost done guys..........I have to make sure it work tomorrow morning on the projector. I'll post it soon so you can see what he's looking for. It's not that amazing trust me.

I acheived the cinemascope by buying some clear plastic palm screen protectors and putting them on my LCD, then I pumped fellowship of the ring through my camera, took a sharpy and drew where the bars were.

This technique helps tremendously while framing, I recommend it highly. It really makes a huge difference when you know exactly where your frame is. When I took the footage into the NLE I just cropped off the areas that went outside of those lines I drew.

Anywhoo, I'll post the rest tomorrow if I get time. thanks a bunch.

Alaska is gorgeous this time of year, its the only reason I haven't been on DVXuser as much recently. :)
