Only complaint I've heard is that DVX is vulnerable to moisture/high humidity . Interestingly sony pd150 has more/better gaskets than panny.
Pd150 has cassette door gaskets and panny does not upon quick initial inspection

yes, I sometimes get some warnining when I use it in smoke. A quick and effective way around this though, is before I gointo the humid/smoke enviroment I put the tape in, close the door and seal off the door with camera tape. Seems to have stopped that for me.
