Buydig is not an authorized dealer. They may or may not be selling authorized product, so you may or may not be entitled to the warranty or rebate. It all depends on where they bought their product from.

I have had for instances this past week where these gray market guys are selling Canadian or Japanese goods, and are advertising the rebates. Of course these do not qualify!

Buydig is not authorized, but I will say that I purchased a camcorder from them (based on great price and great resellerratings score) and the camcorder shipped with a USA warranty. So I assume they are getting their camcorders from a USA distributor of some sort.

I just checked out this link. Looks like it has everything: 100A, MB, the Book, $300 mail-in rebate and a US warranty. The expiration date even matches with what Jan has told me(4/30/05). So this does sound too good to be true. I'm stilling holding on to my wallet at this point, but can anyone get more info from Buydig?

The lowdown on buydig, apparently, is that they do provide good customer service, there seem to be a lot of happy customers. However they are not an authorized dealer, so they can't guarantee their supply of cameras -- the one you get may or may not be genuine US-sourced product. They have to buy their cameras from an authorized dealer, and not directly from panasonic.
If you happen to get a US-sourced unit, it should include all the bonuses. But it may not, so you are taking your chances. And if you go buying any of their overpriced accessories, you'll negate any price advantage you may have had. So if you feel like rolling the dice, you can try ordering it, but stick to your guns and only order the camera itself and no accessories (and most definitely no accessories from Crystal Optics or Sakar!) If you actually get it, and for the $3079 price they're talking about, that would be very interesting indeed.
I don't know how they can undercut authorized dealers by $400, when they have to buy their cameras from authorized dealers...
I'm sure we'd all love to see the invoice and know the results!

I called these guys today and asked every question possible and they assured me four different times that I was buying a legitimite US camera with a US manufacturer's warranty, the software and book were included in the package and the $300 rebate, and if I found out it was not a US model within ten days of receiving it, I could send it back ...for a 10% restocking fee. If it weren't for that, I'd have ordered already. If you buy it and you're wrong, you're out 300 bucks for the restocking fee and you end up spending 3700 when you go buy it legit. It's a gamble, either you're paying Rush [who seems to be a well-respected guy on here] an extra $300 for great service and a great product, or you're paying a lying scam artist $300 for being a liar and wasting your time and then paying Rush for his service... or you might end up getting lucky... personally, it's too much money for me to roll the dice on

Be aware that what ships in the box is a form, and that same form works for Canada, the US and Puerto Rico. Just because you have the form and you send it into Panaosnic US, does not necessarily mean you have a warranty. We track the cameras by serial number. The fact that you go the card says that you have a camera whose warranty is at least in North America. If you want to send me a PM with your serial number, I can check it.
