If you enjoy pain and getting ripped off, then it is too good to be true. Otherwise, expect to pay $3100+ from an honest store or $3300+ from an authorized reseller.

What ever you do DONT waste your time Jedilee!
These are grey market unauthorized dealers.
I have talked to all of them and when you go to order the camera they will hard sell you everything in the book and if you dont buy a $300 US warranty they will tell you that you should receive it in 4 to 8 weeks.When you get your camera
it will be stripped clean of its serial number and Panasonic wont touch it. They are all borderline legal. I spent a whole week talking to all of the (Cheaper) resellers and they are ALL A SCAM! So please man dont do it . Its worth the extra couple hundred bucks to get a clean camera that has a warranty that Panasonic will honor. :-/ Let me know if you have any questions,they all should be shot!!!!

These ripoffs have been already addressed extensively on this site. Right now (end of April, 2004), Don't even think of getting a new one for less than $3100.

Thanks fellas! I'm fairly new to the website and just wanted to say that this is an awesome community packed w/lots of good stuff. Anyway...does anyone have a suggestion to a good online store that sells the real thing (warranty, etc.)? I'm REALLY looking into buying the 100a. ;D

:) no you know i actually named myself tht becuase when you spell it backwards you get- " resolmai " .. which is just cool.. i mean just look at it . i cant stop staring at it cause its so cool.

B&H has not only been good to me, but to several people I know. Plus, they're a real store you can walk into if you're ever in NY. I got my whole DVX package, plus a JVC deck and monitor and FCP 4, from them. I never had a moment's discomfort.

man those dudes are some mafia..
I call them and they hang up the phone when i started asking questions regarding the camera that guy say that out of 10 dumb ass like me that call one of them is so stupid to buy it, i told him that was illegal and he should advertise the truth on his site he started talking %$%^$^ and he hang up..

All of those dealers are all the same, i did some checking royal cammera and all those are own by the same guy i did a background check and the server and domain name is registered to the same company on New York but different names everytime, also if you call sometimes it is the same person, from another website so its all one big company scammers, i am screwed because i catually believe, i could buy my camera for that much..
Rush and EVS is kind of far away from me since i only have 2700 and i am looking for a good deal or a used dvx100a

I made the mistake of dealing with a place called Expresscameras.com. They are bait and switch shysters just like the others. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

just to let you know i live in NYC and i saw the same website (royal camera), so i went down to the shop to take a look at the camera before i got it.
1- it took me 2hours to find the damn shop. why? bad directions? no. far away? no. the damn store isn't even called royal camera.
2- i get to the "store" and it looks like a frat house on crack.
3- not only that but there is no camera's to be seen anywhere.
so to humor myslef i asked where the camera were because im interested in buying. the guy ask what camera i want then goes through a door that i didnt even see because it was coverd in papers and boxes, then doesnt come back down for like another 20min. so i just left as i saw the door open back up.
so if its to good to be true, it's cuz it IS.
