Our DVX100A arrived yesterday (woot!!!)
My production partner came over and we shot some tests in the garage using scene file 6. We love the panny, but we still have a lot to learn about it! Will be going through Barry's book as fast as possible.
Here's some results from out first test (which includes some comparisons against our Sony DCRTRV27 1 chip camera that we used on previous tests)

Let me know what you think. Also, let me know what you think of my color graded shots - going for a warm look, but also a noir style effect with lots of shadow. Should I be trying to get my final look more from the camera, or in post? I still had to give these images a nice S-curve in photoshop even though I'm use the cine-gamma curve setting in the camera. Perhaps lower the Master-Ped? Or, is it OK as is? I definitely like the adjusted curve in the Post Effect images (for what we are trying to do) but I'm not exactly sure how to get this in-camera (or if I even need to).
Thanks,
Sledge
