We are planning to shoot short films with the Pan. and the Cannon together and also edit.

Are there definate problems we are going to run into in editing or any where else because the cameras are different and use different tape. We are aware that color matching might be a concern but since were just starting out can live with that for a while.

Thanks

I did a shoot a couple years ago with those two cameras paired up. I only had the Canon for that day, and the biggest thing is I wish I had gotten to know the settings better.

try your best to match the image between the two in camera. so, while you won't match the two perfect in final cut, you'll have an easier time getting it as close as possible. and I mean every setting, white balance, master ped, gamma, detail levels, whatever effects the image try and match up. you'll probably have to test and test and test and test. and test some more.

as far as tapes, find a single brand that you are happy with. don't run different brands in your capture deck, the different lubricants that each brand uses will build up on each other on the heads. stick with a single brand in both cameras.

unless of course you have multiple capture decks.

Shibuya,

Thanks so much for that info. It will be a big help. It's the first time for both of us collaborating and doing the 2 camera shoot and we heard there can be tons of small pain is the butt problems using and editing two different cameras.

Much appreciated.
