Hello,

With the DVX100a, if i record from two seperate mics: one to the left, and one to the right channel

is it possible to split the channels when editing / captureing? I have: PC, Adobie Premiere Pro.

Thanks!

Your editing software should be able to do this. I don't edit with PP but I would assume it can. Just take any stereo track (a song perhaps) and see if you can do it before you go out on a shoot.

great!

so it doesnt mix them on the DV tape, i dont need to set any settings, its automatic?

Don't need to do anything special while recording expect make sure the source and inputs are correct. The tracks are discreet, they are not mixed.

When you get it into Premiere, there are Stereo Audio Effects such as Fill Left and Fill Right, which do what they say when applied to a certain clip, fill both channels with whatever is on the right or left channel. Sort of picking which of the two you want to use for that clip.

Now, if you want to have a separate copy of each channel, you could drop the clip on the timeline twice and apply Fill Left to one and Fill Right to the other, and you'd have both to work with. You could also export those individually and have two files to work with. Whatever works for you.
