DVX100A - Can I use these Pan. tapes?

I have only ever, always used Pan AY-DVM63MQ tapes.

I just got two Pan AY-DVM63PQ
and
one AY-DVM63AMQ

Which is a good replacement for the tape I always used.

The last one is HD which I don't think I need with my 100A

I just want to do random shooting, nothing important. i am assuming I can just switch
and not be concerned about cleaning the heads because of new tapes.

Thanks

I remember Sony were the only wet tapes and all Panasonic tapes are dry, so you should be fine.

I think you should be fine. As long as you don't mix wet and dry tapes that's the key. A good rule of thumb is to stick within one brand.

Bad things.

You get artifacts (when parts the video appear "stuck") quickly.

What sucks is I used to have a VX2000 so I have a surplus of sony tapes. my dumb dad always tells me to use the sony tapes for anything and only my panasonic tapes for REAL projects he says. I only use the panasonic ones but he will sneak in my room and swap the tapes so I dont "waste them" He made ME pay $200 when my heads crapped out on me. I think my next investment will be a big safe for all my tapes and DVX!!!

Your dad dictates what kinds of tapes you use?

When you mix wet and dry tapes bad things do happen. Gunk builds up on the heads b/c wet and dry don't play nice with each other, and your cameras heads take the beating.

as long as you stick with it, that's fine.
so if you are using Sony tapes, just used them.
switching back and forth is the problem

ps-I wish I had the DVX when I was 14.....you're luck.
