DVX100A auto-shutoff (?)

Hi,

I'm a digital video newbie who has just gotten
the DVX100A and notice that the camera powers off
after a few minutes in standby mode --
is this behavior normal? Is there a auto-shutoff option
in the camera?

Appreciate any feedback as I'm a little concerned
that perhaps it's because the camera is running hotter
than it ought to ..

yes it is in the menu. You need to change it to gointo standby instead of powering off.
