UPDATE: CAMERA and .6 Wide have SOLD.
-------------------------------------------------
This camera has served me well, but my work has moved into DVC50pro and hi def, and it’s time to let it go.
CONDITION:
The camera’s working great. And- I’ve decided to spring for a full camera tune-up at Robb’s repair
in Kirkland, WA as part of the sale process. They’re an authorized Panny service center, and I know from prior
experience that they do great work. They’re doing a thorough work-over including checking lens and tape deck
alignments -- making sure the camera’s working completely up to spec. In my experience with them, this often means
the camera winds up being better than when new. I've seen DVXs that arrive from factory with lens or deck slightly
out of allignment.
I’m doing this because it’s what I’d want for myself if I was buying a used camera for important work. I’ll include
their detailed service records as part of the sale. The camera is on the way to them today, and they project that the
tune up should be done by around the end of this week. If the camera sells before I have it back I will instruct them
to ship direct to the buyer.
This camera has 155 hours on it.
You may notice that the AC brick case looks a bit off. That's just a bit of gaffers tape residue, as we had built up a
velcro system, attached to the brick with black gaffers, to mount it to my tripod leg. Since taking the picture I was
able to get all the residue off with alcohol. (Probably should have done that in reverse order!)
MODIFICATIONS:
The camera has the sturdy steel bottom plate modification that’s sold here on DVDuser (see photo),
replacing the original flimsy plastic one.
Also, you’ll see two identical white charts affixed with double sticky tape, one to the lens hood,
and one to the LCD door. Both contain # to feet conversion data, as provided by Barry Green here at DVXuser,
to aid in focus pulling. These charts are removable, of course, if you’d prefer them off.
ACCESSORIES INCLUDED:
The camera will ship in the original factory box with a nice kit of accessories:
• 3 batteries: The original 1600mAh battery, Panny’s 2800mAh battery,
and a HiCapacity 3500mAh battery designed for this camera model
• Panasonic brand DV LCD hood (See photo). This opens up and packs flat when not in use.
• Barry’s (user annotated) DVX book and DVD.
• D Labs Filters (DVD) guide
• Magic Bullet Editors -- still shrink wrapped -- the version that I got as a special offer promotion with the camera.
• Panny’s original operating instructions. Still intact, but quite well read. And well annotated.
• The stock stuff that came with all DVX100a units: remote, ac/dc adaptor system,
and camera-body mount mike holder clip
• A Tiffen UV haze filter and screw-in lens cap. I’ll also include the Cavision adaptor ring that mates this camera
to their matte box if you’re interested, and I have an oversize lens cap that mates nicely to that adaptor ring.
PRICE: After reading over prior recent sales here and elsewhere, I’m thinking that $2035 plus shipping is a fair
price, considering what’s coming with the camera. Since the checkout/tuneup will cost me close to $200, this seems
like a good deal for the buyer, and I’ll have the peace of mind of knowing that at time of sale, the camera is in top
shape.
Please PM me if you're interested. As far as generating some confidence in proceeding with a transaction, you can
get a bit of a sense of my company at www.westwoodcreek.com.
ACCESSORY NOT INCLUDED but available for sale separately for $245:
I have a Century .6 wide adaptor for this camera, part #VS-06WA-DVX, as you’ll see in some of the photos.
This lens sells at B & H for $400. The .6X attaches via bayonette mount to the front of the HVX lens for 40% wider
angle of view and minimal distortion. It works well, is much lighter (easier on the camera) than the .75 wide,
and was designed specifically for the DVX. It allows partial zooming up to mid-range while in Auto Focus
(loses focus beyond 5X). The resulting focal length is 2.7-13.5mm with a 84°-21° horizontal angle of view).

I'm posting this lens with the camera for now in case you want to pick it up at the time of sale,
as for me it's been an essential addition, allowing me to get shots that would have been impossible otherwise --
like ceiling mount down shots of dramatic action. It's also fantastic for car interior work. If it doesn't go with the camera I'll post it separately later.
