DVX100/vx1000 footage vs. HVX/HPX DVCPRO footage

I'm most likely going to get the HPX170 in a few months, but as of now I've still been shooting with my Sony vx1000. Now it's not HD, but everytime I shoot with it and watch it on an SD tv, I'm still amazed and very pleased with the quality. Very sharp and very great colors for an SD camera. I've also seen videos where DVX100 footage was cut together with vx1000 footage, and I think they looked great together.

If I ever shoot 4:3 SD (DVCPRO) on an HPX170, would I be able to use my vx1000 (NTSC DV) as a B camera, and mix the two together? It's hard to imagine that one 3CCD camera's SD footage can blow away anothers, to the point that they couldn't be cut together. But is that the case? I'm sure not many have compared HVX/DVCPRO footage to vx1000 footage, but I'm sure many have compared HVX/DVCPRO footage with DVX100 footage. How do they look?
