Dvx100 Timecode?

Just hit the record button and it will write timecode to the tape.
Or you can always switch "Free Run" timecode so when you hit the start/stop button the timecode isn't disturbed.
Not exactly sure that I answered your question. Please try to be a bit more speicific.

i just want my tape to record with a timecode and for the viewfinder to show my timecode at the top? i dont know what im doing wrong but i cant get it to initialize a new tape. thanks

I'm still not understanding completely. I believe it shows the timecode on the bottom of the viewfinder (don't have my cam in front of me, though).

What are you seeing when you put a tape in and press record?? a bunch of 0's where the timecode is, or no numbers at all? what else are you seeing in the viewfinder while recording? audio, settings, battery life, etc. Check your display settings in the menu...
