Does the DVX100 on this ebay listing look farmiliar? I sent the guy $2000 and he's really casual about getting back to me and gave me a work number that nobody answers. The photos are all cropped and professional looking and that had me wondering why he didn't just take normal photos of the camera on a table or something like everyone else does..... I'll let you know what happens.

I have no idea. But, it looks like an awfully cheap price for everything that is included. I noticed there is a dvxuser battery included, that the seller said he bought from dvxuser. You would think he was a member and would have posted it here.

I've got warning flags, and probably would have avoided it, but it is just speculation at this point. I hope it works out for you.

I had corresponded with him and agreed to buy it (immediately after you apparently did) - so he emailed me back saying it had just sold (after I said "i'll take it!")... he seemed legit to me, so I hope you don't get screwed. I'm thinking, however, on the plus side - if he was a scammer, why wouldn't he just have taken my money AND your money. So, probably you'll get your camera. Wish I'd gotten to it before you - good luck with it :-)

It doesn't look like any scam I've ever seen, however... I see that the reserve wasn't met. Did the seller offer you a "second chance?" If so, it might have been a scam, although there are legitimate second chance offers through eBay. Did you pay through PayPal? If so, you're probably protected in case it is a scam. How long ago did you send the money? As far as the photos, they look legit as the seller mentions he's a pro photographer. Good luck with it.

I sent him $1000 via paypal and $950 via bank check signed in his name to Boise Idaho. I sent the check registered with the post office so he has to sign for it. He claims he works a lot and isn't home to sign for it but he'll keep me posted. That was Friday... He doesn't seem like a scammer, but the fact that he's not emailing me once a day to keep me in the loop has me worried. I'm emailing the $hit out of him "let me know what's up!" "Ill leave you bad feedback!" haha. In Boston we are quick to get the job done and we stick to our word. Maybe in Boise they are a little more laid back and the "When i'll get to it" people? Man I hope its not a scam, it's a sweet deal for $1950.

Good point. Thanks.

Yeah, keep us posted. I once dealt with a guy (when I bought my second DVX) who was SOOOO slow to respond. And this was after I sent the dough. I was sweating it but sure enough, in a few days, I received the tracking number then the DVX in its case and all was right in my world.

Plus, his rating is pretty good.

Yeah, its just odd to me doing a transaction of this size and not at least having a brief conversation on the telephone first. He said he is "reluctant" to give me his phone number. Is that what the world is coming to? No more human interaction between seller and buyer?

Well, I wouldnt be reluctant if I was selling something. What are you going to do with his number? Sell it? I mean, what COULD you do with it...?

The photos look totally legit. They are what product photos are supposed to look like. They went out of their way to capture shots that another DVXUser would want to see. They showed you that the image will be flipped and hours on camera. I think you'll get your gear because this person is clearly a DVXUser. They have the DVXUser battery and the iFocus created by a DVXUser. It doesn't smell like a scam at all. Don't sweat it.
