I went to your website and you are obviously shooting the 'real stuff'... What camera do you use to shoot those inverviews for network or cable tv...? Your are comparing all of these cameras at this price point but would you ever use these cameras for doing pro work?
I already have a dvx but can it deliver an image that you would be happy with on network television?

I work in many formats. Primary for television we use Betacam. I also own a Panasonic Varicam HD camera. I also shoot stuff with professional DVCAM cameras. Would I ever use these cameras you speak of for pro work? Sometimes I do. I've used my DVX100 for some shots in various programs. It's not the camera that determines what is used, but the format, and then the acceptability of the camera in that format. For instance, I shoot many programs for ITN in the UK. They shoot PAL DV. But they will not accept any cameras below a DSR570. 1/3 chips are great but they are not very much accepted for many programs unless it's some sort of auxiliary shot. If they are it's usually about cost. Some cable shows simply don't have the budget for more so they will accept less. And for others it's simply their decision. I am shooting a new series for the Fine Living Channel now (one of HGTVs channels). We are shooting Betacam. It could easily be DVCAM but the company wants Betacam. But some programs on cable are shot with less costly cameras and do just fine. I think American Choppers uses DVX100s. While you can see the differences around the edges if you have the eye, it works just fne.
