thats the mpeg 4 . . . in some situations it shows these pixels artifact
Shai I'd like to hear your comments about shooting in "widescreen" mode with the DVX100 camera. Good and Bad...Do you frame your subject whilst looking through the "squished up" image on the viewfinder or do you have other means of judging your framing? ( a separate 16:9 monitor for example)
Also, I'd like to hear your comments, positive and negative about using a 16:9 adaptor on this camera? Nice footage by the way of "5 after 6" !
first, "5 nach 6" is "5 to 6" (hey john, what about you german?!... )
seconds, i didn't use here an anamorphic adapter, only the in-camera 16:9 mode, therefore, in this accession, i didn't work with a squeezed picture.
when i did have a chance to work with the ana, it took me a little to get use to the squeezed picture (most of the times i worked handheld.. so i really had to), but the 16:9 monitor was always there for cases of doubt.
dont know why, but a squeezed AND cropped image (i.e. 2.35:1) was easier to adjust to, than a squeezed 16:9 in 4:3.
but in both cases it is possible. best would be to practice a little and adapt your "framing rules" to the squeezed display mode.
