dvx100 output with combustion

I'm currently working in a 23.97 timeline in avid. This is footage shot on an ag-dvx100a in 24fps advanced. I've exported a quicktime reference to work in combustion. The problem is when I render back to Avid. The footage is jittery and not back to the original frame rate. Do I need to use pulldown? I've tried some variations with it but no such luck. What frame rate do I need to export with when USING pulldown? The options are using telecine with five different pulldown sequences.

WWWSS, WWSSW,WSSWW,SSWWW,and SWWWS. (W referring to whole frames, and S referring to split frames)

Which do I use and what framerate do I use when exporting in pulldown? I'm very confused so any input would be helpful. Thanks

Re: dvx100 output with combustion

I use Combustion along with FCP, but this might apply anyway.

FCP removes the pulldown during capture, meaning that by the time I see it in FCP it has no pulldown and is 23.98 ready to rock. If AVID is doing the same thing, then the footage is at 23.98 already and there is no pulldown remaining.

When you export to Quicktime, be CERTAIN that you have set any options that it gives you to match your frame rate (23.98/whatever).

Then, in Combustion, you should be able to check your "Source" tab to ensure that it shows the proper frame rate and lists it as "From Source." If it doesn't, then set it manually here.

Hope this helps,
