DVX100 macro

I'm constructing a 35mm adapter. How good is the DVX100's macro? What is the focal distance when fully zoomed out?

when fully zoomed out, you can basically focus on the front element, and no I'm not kidding. Put a uv lens on it, and you can clearly focus on any dust on that element. Now I don't know how this would help a mini35, unless you are trying to focus on a focusing screen the size of 6x4.5 medium format. zoomed all the way in, I believe the macro on the 100a can be focused at about 1ft, not exactly sure of the numbers.

I know I'll have to zoom in at least a little bit. I'm just trying to guage now whether or not I'll need any close-up lenses.

You will. Depending on how big you want to make the adapter, a +3 should work although you would probably need to make your adapter a foot and a half long. I use a +10 but it distorts a lot. +7 might be best.
