DVX100 looks softer than DVX100A...

Hey now,

I've been shooting lately with a DVX100A and a DVX100. My DVX100A has a sharper look to it in comparison to the DVX100. Is this one of the differences between the two cameras? It seems as if the DVX100 is softer in terms of things on a horizontal plane. Is there a way to make the DVX100A softer to match up with the DVX100 better? The other camera op that I've been working with insists that this is possible, but neither of us have been able to achieve the look so we left it as is. Every thing else seems to match up fine and we are using identical settings. Anyone have any suggestions?

Peace,
Scotty D

we have shot with 2 dvx100 (not a's) and the two cameras had differnet sharpness.. CCd's are like snowflakes, no 2 are excactly alike, so the best way to get a close match is to get 2 cameras made around the same time.

You can soften the sharper image in post, or using the sharpness in the menus. You should be able to get them very very close.

Eeeek!!! It's the return of Kyle Sherman's old avatar!

Yeah, a company that I do a lot of work for has two Sony DSR-570 cameras they bought at the same time with extremely close serial numbers and no level of tweaking can get them to match exactly 100%.
