DVX100 lifetime??

Hi guys, I would like to know how many record hours the DVX100 can tolerate before you have to change the heads? and how much cost that service? thanks.

I've heard anywhere from 1000 to 3000 hours or more. The last I checked, I think it was in the neighborhood of $800-1000 for a head replacement.

I've been told that the design life is 2000 hours, FWIW, and the replacement cost is pretty close to what the horsey sez.

Unless I misunderstood you, there is a hour meter in your camera that will tell you that.

I'm using an older Sony handycam (TRV38) as my deck. Works like a charm.

Canon elura2 for a deck. Bought it off of ebay used 3 years ago, and log about 10 tapes a week with zero issue's so far (knock knock).

No.

It's just 1's and 0's, so for logging and capturing purposes it makes no difference.

so can you guys batch capture with these consumer cams? I've never been able to. is the timecode different. And if you can batch, how are you doing it?
