DVX100 footage mixing

Hi,

Does anyone know if I can mix footage shot with the Panasonic anamorphic adapter with footage shoot using letterbox mode please? I'm wondering whether the look and the thickness of the black bars will be different.

Thanks

Well the anamorphic would be 16:9 (i think) so the letterbox would be 4:3 since it is native 4:3 and with black bars on it.

Thanks. I was wondering whether the thickness of the Black bars will be the same and whether the less resolution on squeeze/letterbox is noticeable.

The reason I am asking is that I want to shoot some footage with the anamorphic adapter and some with a 35mm adapter. Since the 35mm adapter and the anamorphic can't be used together, I have to use squeeze when i'm using the 35mm adapter. I was concerned that the images might not match either with te Black bar thicknesses not being consistent or a noticeable resolution difference.

There will be no black bars on the footage shot with the adapter (unless you shoot in letterbox mode, which you should not do). You will, however, have to unsqueeze it manually, because the DVX will think it's 4:3 footage and won't put a widescreen flag in the data stream.
