DVX100 & DVRack

I have my DVX100 hooked up to a firewire port on my laptop with DVRack software to use as a field monitor. The minute I hit record on the DVX100 the DVRack software says "Stopped Recording" and the field monitor freezes. DVRack still works but I have to close it then start it back up again to see the video plus I have to stop recording on the DVX100?

So for some reason as soon as you hit record on the DVX100 it stops the DVRack picture? Any ideas?

My first instinct says that you should make sure that your system's Memory Usage option is set to Programs, not System Cache (System Properties > Advanced tab > Settings button in the Performance region > Advanced tab). But it's been a while since I had my head in DV Rack-land, and memory has fogged over a bit--I think that with that set to System Cache, DV Rack typically recorded for about 5 seconds. If that setting's not the problem, then please contact our customer support desk at 916-985-8050. They'll almost certainly want to have a look at your dxdiag file, so you might as well have it handy (Start Menu > Run > type "dxdiag" and press Enter > click Save All Information).
