Hey There,
I'm fairly new to using the DVX100 or using DV prosumer cameras at all and I have a question about conversion. If I shot a 15 second commercial in 24 fps what steps would be required to convert this footage to TV commercial quality? Would the network have the tools necessary to do this or would I have to hire someone to do it for me? Sorry if this is a stupid question I just don't know.
Thanks everyone!

I duno what u mean by tv commercial quality...however it is already professional quality. Edit ur 24p on 24p timeline ( 24pa if ur using final cut 24p, 24pa or 24p for vegas, avid or premier on 24p timeline).
After u edit it export it back to tape. And ur done. Submit it to the stations on tape.

id contact the station and ask soembody there .might be 29.99 or whoo knows these days man!! maybe ask for a hard drive!!!!???

No effort, I shot tons of commercials on my DVX in 24p. Shoot 24pA, edit on a 24p timeline, and output at 29.97. Effortless.

I am shooting a doc and want to shoot in 24P advance (because there is less image deterioration than regular 24P), but I want to be able to add stock footage and 16mm transfers that might originate as 60i video to the 24P timeline. Can I convert 60i material to compatibility with a 24P timeline? Will there be image deterioration to consider there? Also, I am planning to shoot "thin" (in scene settings). Any advice/warnings? Thanks.

that's a weird question but I'm pretty sure the station doesn't support HD yet so there is no way you can convert your footage to a TV commercial quality....
