I am directing a short film in a few months time called "Fresh", the film is being shot on a few hundred dollars on my DVX102b (pal 25p version).

I am hoping to have the premiere for cast and crew at the local cinema but because the screen is so big I need to know the best soloution for the big silver screen with a DVX Pal Version.

I know the resloution is bad for cinema but the local one does have digital projection and can handle Standard Def content.

Hope you guys can help on tips for DVX and the cinema!

DVX100 Path To FILM !!!

DVX100 Path To FILM !!!

Remember a specific Scene File setting is going to play key role in the final transfer to film.

You may get some idea from here: http://www.dvfilm.com/maker/dvx100settings.htm

For 'Silver Screen' you need the following DVD. I didn't saw it but its from the Sundance Cinematography Award winning DP 'Nancy Schreiber' about her experience with DVX100 camera she used in 'November': http://www.birnsandsawyer.com/cgibin/BIRstore.cgi?user_action=detail&catalogno=162176

Also, visit her interview here: http://www.dvxuser.com/articles/Nancy/

Also, your the film transfer company would be your greatest help to set your camera file settings. If they allow you to some film-transfer test.

Hope it helps ...

I highly doubt you're going to want/be able to spend the money to have it printed to film. Last time I looked, it was around $10.00/sec

just search for processes to export to ntsc with pal footage...its all done a little different on the different NLE systems.

Thanks guys.

The local cinema can actually project dvds and digital content as well as 35mm in one of the cinema rooms so I might not need to get a print made!

The scene files will be put to great use either way as I may have to make a print for festivals.

Great advice!
