This is my dilema, I have a DVX100 and MBS, which would be the most effective way to use the 24p technology?
A. Do I use the built-in 24p on the DVX100
B. or should I record at 60i and then use MBS to convert the footage 24p
C. and if so what would be the benifit of doing either or, besides the fact of time?

the final output (god willing and the devil paying) is film, I using final cut pro hd to edit the footage and AE to clean/spice it up the footage...

thanks all for your help in advance

I'm not the most experienced person in the world on this but I would say if you're aiming for film output, definitely shoot in 24fpsA ('A' being important) because only that way you'll get 24 full resolution frames a second. I if you shoot any 'i' format and use Magic Bullet you'll need to de-interlace first which will pretty much half your vertical resolution. With 24fpsa you simply remove the advanced pulldown and have your 24 frames. Please someone with knowledge correct me if I'm wrong on this.

24p on DVX100 = full (true) vertical resolution + no extra rendering time
MBS with 60i = half (calculated) vertical resolution + lots of extra rendering time

MBS should be used only if you have a camera that can only shoot interlaced, or footage which is already 60i.

Here is the "info" on their site:

Which product do we recommend for your camera?
Interlaced cameras (Includes the Sony's HDR-FX1, HVR-Z1U & PD170, Canon's XL1 & GL2)
If you shoot in a NTSC, PAL, HD or HDV interlaced format (60i or 50i) and wish to achieve the 24p filmic look plus soften your video and add a unique look Magic Bullet Suite is your best choice.

Progressive scan cameras - 24p or other (Includes Panasonic's DVX100(A), Canon's XL2, and JVC's JY-HD10U)
If you shoot in a NTSC, PAL, HD or HDV 24p or another progressive format, frame mode, use your own deinterlacing techiques, or do not wish to use After Effects and want to soften your video and add a unique look Magic Bullet Editors is your best choice.

Thanks for your answers - just one more question, I still want to use MBS to add effects to my final project - how should I export the project from FCP to AE (I don't have MB Editors or AutomaticDuck) what is the easiest way?
