Hi, I do lots of video editing for the web or DVD. I'm using a Panasonic DVX100 with a Firestore FS4 Pro.
For editing, I use Premiere Pro CS3 an the Matrox RT.x2. So I normally use the Matrox AVI setting of the FS4 Pro.
I don't know if someone can help me...
If I want to record in 24p,
should I put my DVX100 in 24p and let the FS-4 Pro to Matrox AVI ?
or
should I put my DVX100 in standard DV and the FS-4 Pro to AVI TYPE2 24p ?
or
should I put my DVX100 in 24p and the FS-4 Pro to AVI TYPE2 24p ?
is AVI TYPE2 24p is for 24p and 24pa or for 24pa only ?
----
Someone at Matrox told me to use option 1. DVX in 24p and the FS4 in Matrox AVI.
I tried it.
I opened the file in a "Matrox 486p @ 23,976" project. The video is not great. A kind of "ghosting trail effect" is create. If I look at the property of the file, the frame rate is 29,97 and the scan mode: Interlaced - lower field first.
I opened the file in a "Matrox 486p @ 29,97" project. The video is not great... Some frame shows lots of scan line. In fact, there's 2 frames with scan line followed by 3 corrects frame...
If, in the timeline, I change the field option of the clip to "Always deinterlace" the scan line disapear.
But why I have to do that... My camera was on 24p mode ?
