DVX100 A & B, $1500ish?

Hey everyone

What do you guys think of these prices and this seller?

100A
100B

Also, any idea why the B is cheaper? What do you think of the "package" deals listed on the right?

If it seems WAY too good to be true, by all means it probably isn't. I'm sure this seller is selling product at a loss out of the kindness of his/her heart. I've found that altruism is in particular abundance in Brooklyn.

Behh... again, I post without googling appropriately.

Sorry mods, please delete this thread.

It's crazy... this seems to be the number 1 product on earth where too good to be true ALWAYS applies 101% of the time.

Electronics, cars... I've gotten tons of great deals that have appeared too good to be true... but with these cameras - it just doesn't happen.

Rubix,

CCI is one of those bait and switch folks. I tried to get a DVX from them for that low low price and when I said I just wanted the camera, it became a Chinese market version with no English menu items... or no battery, or no lens... which is a total lie because it comes with a fixed lens.

AshG's mention of using www.resellerratings.com for research is good advice. The results will frustrate you as to how pervasive these scams are, but it is a good lesson. One better to learn before you shell out $1500 or more to people who would just as well sell all your CC information to the highest bidder.

I basically called CCI out and challenged them to be honest, and short of my actually driving to Brooklyn and personally kicking their ass from here to eternity, I didn't think it was worth the cost of gas.

At this point in time... $3000 is about what you will find this camera for. My advice is, buy local. People who's hand you can shake... or asses you can kick if something goes wrong. Integrity is always worth a few extra buck because the alternative is just not worth the grief.

Someone should call Nightline and get them to do a story exposing these punks in Brooklyn (where you will find 80% of them operate from). I know Nightline is big on exposing sex offenders these days, but rape comes in many forms.

There are dozens of threads covering these scams. That's how I discovered this forum.

On one thread (which I can't seem to find now) someone posted a full list of the on-line shops that are not reputable. I counted 30 of them. Shameful.

Sounds like a challange for a documentary, "Exposing the Internet Frauds". Who know's, if good enough maybe you can land a job at Nightline

Yep. It's unreal. I've been doing so much research the last few nights that I've probably come across 20 of the 30. I can't believe it - I'm always purchasing electronics online. This is a completely different ballgame. Even after my first post ever, I still hadn't realized how bad it was. Thanks for the info Stan.
