DVX with Instant HD Adv vs. HV20

I own a DVX but I'd like to go HD. As I do this for fun I'm not going to put out the cash for a XHA1. I was thinking a HV20/30. Then I read about Instant HD Advanced. I was wondering which image would be better - DVX100 using Instant HD vs. HV20? I read the reviews but no clear answer.

I own an HV30 and one could easily say it competes really well with most of the prosumer cameras out today in terms of image sharpness/resolution. But honestly to me, uprezzed DVX footage has an overall nicer look to it. I considered the DVX for my first prosumer camera, but I opted for the HMC, honestly only because of the 60p and workflow.

If you haven't done so already, search vimeo for "dvx100" and sort by High Definition. There are some really outstanding results. There's no need for the Instant HD converter program, just export at 1280x720 straight from your NLE. Stick with the DVX! You'll just end up getting frusterated with the HV20; trust me.

Thanks Seven. I was leaning that way already. I didn't want to get into the HV20 codec issues. I did look at some of the HD vids and they look pretty good to me. I have a 50 inch plasma and the SD DVDs look OK but I bet they be great uprezzed and burned to Blu-Ray.
