DVX Vs. XL2?

I had recently posted in the 'Cinematography' realm of this site about buying a Mini35. Due to certain curiousity.. I started to wander around. I was browsing some of the XL2's features and it mentions that it has interchangable lens capabilities... does this mean I could screw in a 35mm lens, instead of spending a lot of time and energy by making (or save 10 thousand dollars on buying a real mini35) a homemade mini35 for a dvx100a, and get the same quality?

Cheers,
Eric

No, not at all. In fact, the XL2 makes it less likely that you'll be able to make a homemade mini35. The mini35 still requires a lens, whether it's the built-in lens of the DVX/FX1/Z1/etc., or a specially-manufactured relay lens (such as is used on the XL2 and HD100). DIY types don't have access to those relay lenses, so direct-connection to an XL2 or HD100 isn't gonna happen from a homemade version.

You could attach a homemade version to the front of the XL2's stock lens, however.
