DVX vs XH-A1

If I record in HDV, do color correction and apply film gamma such as Magic Bullet and THEN I downconvert to SD, will the end result be superior to footage captured from a DVX using its built in cine gamma? Also, I have been very impressed by the XH-A1's low light performance and its almost nonexistant noise. Does the DVX have comparable light sensitivity without being too noisy?

Thanks!

You will get a sharper picture using the A1 (esp for 16:9). Superior is up to you to decide.

The DVX should be a bunch more sensitive then the A1, but it does have some noise. Just light your footage and it will all be fine.
