DVX User Name Change? Attn: Jerrod!

I figure the "user" part is what's important... the camera is outdated... but user is cool and fresh... just ask these guys what they think of "user"... see, current as ever!

Wow havent seen Tron in a while... Adding to netflix... wife hasnt seen it somehow?!?! Definitely a timeless classic, Matt. Good call!:beer:
 
Sorry... that was tongue in cheek... "user" remember? They call "US" users? I actually plugged that because I thought it WAS outdated... I watched Tron not that long ago... and aside from the nostalgia I was doing the David Letterman nervous tie thing every time my GF looked at me... trust me, don't rent it for your female friend's enjoyment.

Batutta has a pretty good suggestion... ghost the X in the BG... kind of bridging the gap between V and u... or else redefine the X as it is now... with some sort of crazy Speed Racer type of story. Filmer X.

Yeah I was kidding about it being timeless. Had forgotten about the "user" reference though. Still gonna make her watch it. She knew I was a loser before we got married. It's all good. Thanks for looking out for me though :dankk2:

Eh she's a border line geek. Actually not really at all. But she tolerates and supports my geekiness. Too bad abou the 3d stuff. Yeah I remember fantastic fx and perfect looking everything as they race around in the game and stuff. I think I was about 10 when I saw this last... Gotta say I almost didnt recognize the grab you posted as "no Tron looked better than that crap he posted" did run through my head. Perhaps I wont be renting this in order to preserve the memories... I tell you a good movie that just doesnt get old though - flight of the navigator. Now thats a movie.
 
I like DVXUSER. It is a brand name at this point. It also seems a bit silly to rename it just because the camera that got this thing going is not the coolest kid in school anymore.
That's like saying we should rename Walmart because that Sam Walton guy is dead. Its an established name and if the name really bothered ya you would not be here posting about what the name should be.

If this logic applies to all things, we we all be "moving picture capturists" - because the word Film Maker doesn't make since because film is not always used to make movies.

If you really want to change the name just pick your favorite three words for D, V and X

Like DogVitaminXray User or DigitalVolumeXylophone USER

I like to think of it as the DigitalVideoXchange....Yeah I know its spelled wrong but that's what we do here. Exchange Ideas and information.

So pick your favorite DVX words and let the name stay.
