DVX tape/time code problem....

ok so, i was capturing some footage from shooting in FCP today, about 15 minutes into the tape i paused i to go get a drink, i came back and pressed play to see that the numbers on the TC werent changing and no video was playing on the screen. the camera had been working fine all day, ive never had any problems like this before, EVER and then it just happened out of the blue, i tried out a few other tapes and when i inserted the tapes and pressed play it showed as if there was no time code at all. just read TC*00;00;00;00. even tho I KNOW there was footage on the tape. i borrowed a friends camera and was able to capture the rest of the footage but the tape still wont play on my dvx.

incase you were wondering or were going to tell me.

1. the tape already had a set time code on it
2. i know its a terrible idea to capture with it in the first place, but i am flat broke.
3. i had already captured about 3 clips before this had happened.

please, any help would be much appreciated, has anyone ever had this problem before?

I would like to know the same as well.
I had the same problem w/ the HVX once and it was still under warranty so I just turned it in to Panasonic but I wounder if you can fix it....

guess it was just dirty video heads, i just went and picked up a head cleaning cassette and it works fine now. :2vrolijk_08:

the same thing happened to me but i was using a little one chip camera to capture, it was the first time useing my DVX and i found out that (because of maybe dirty heads, i think) i get a time code breack everytime i press record so i tried to do a batch capture and capture the whole tape, then all of the sudden it lost the time code and the tape is a total loss.
