Hey Guys,

I've been using my SGPro upside down now for 9 months. I've gotten used to it, but now that I'm getting into more complex films, I really need to invest in an external monitor that will flip the image for me.

It would be great if you guys could suggest some affordable solutions. Thanks so much.

I splashed out on an Ikan HDe kit from B&H pretty soon after investing in an SGpro rev.3.

Spent about a week before doing that trying to get used to filming stuff upside down and back to front and then gave up.

The Ikan HDe flips the image both horizonally & vertically which was exactley what i was after. It looks fairly sharp as far as i can tell with the DVX100B so focusing is made a heck of a lot easier. One tip i would give you is that if you're shooting outside in the sun make sure you get the Ikan Sunhood too otherwise you won't see a thing, it's about 30 dollars and clips onto the LCD with velcro. I bought the full kit so i got the hardcase which conveiniently stores everything. The hot shoe connector that comes with the kit is a little bit crap though as even when tightened there is a fair bit of wobble. I plan to buy some sort of arm to connect to the rods for mounting the monitor soon anyway. The monitor is HD so when i finally upgrade to a HVX i will keep using it too.

I'm in the UK but i couldn't find a UK outlet that sold the kit so i had to import from B&H USA which cost £120 on import charges to my annoyance. But i'm glad i have it now as i can use my DVX/SGpro with a lot more accuracy.

Here's some pics of the whole rig...
