Re: DVX Seattle film trailer

I really like some of the shots! Especially the one with the guy on the runway! That fence shot looks awesome also. The trailer is a little too vague, although trailers are worthless if they reveal too much, I found myself Very confused as to what this movie might be about. (Maybe I'm just stupid :)). Also, in the beginning when the guy moves his hand along the window I can see some interlacing ( I think that is what it's called. The black lines that appear with motion). Do you notice these lines before you post it on the internet?

Re: DVX Seattle film trailer

hey, i really loved it for what it was. had some kind of atmosphere to it. good work

Re: DVX Seattle film trailer

Yeah, I did, but when I did the trailer(FCP), I just pieced together several regular quicktime files. I think those are where the interlaced lines came from. I shot it all in 24pAdvanced.

Re: DVX Seattle film trailer

Is the film about a kid going to a Jesuit Boarding School or something? I agree that the trailer is fairly vague, giving little info on the topic of the movie.

I also agree with everyone else in that the shots looked really good, a mixture of tight closeups and wide atmospheric shots...it looks "cinematic".

I'm curious about seeing a more detailed trailer posted in the future.

Re: DVX Seattle film trailer

Given some of the questions and comments above I suggest your trailer sparked curiousity.....shouldn't that be what a trailer does? Good work. My question is...why the airplane?

Re: DVX Seattle film trailer

Not bad at all Bill. So you shot this in Seattle? Was it a friendly atmosphere down there? I live about 4 hours from there and am going to be shooting a big short sometime at the end of summer. Curious to know if I'll have any major problems shooting in the city. As for the rain...

Re: DVX Seattle film trailer

The trailer you guys saw is rough footage thrown together from scenes I've filmed so far for my still-in-production feature. I know it doesn't make complete sense yet, but it's not done...

The airplane was there because he had to fly to this school from his home in the Seattle area. Besides I'm justified for including it solely because of the scenic beauty and novelty right? Who needs dramatic function (JK). In the end it'll all work out... ever heard that before?

Oh, as far as friendly filming in the Seattle area? I haven't shot in the city so I don't know. I prefer to shoot in ways that make it possible to avoid permits and permission.

Oh, I've put several screen captures on the site recently too. Check them out...
