DVX rebate - will it be renewed?

I was just wondering if anybody knew (or had any good guesses) on whether the $250 rebate (plus book&DVD) for the DVX100B would be renewed after Sep 30? I don't know if these rebates are always clocking over year-round or not? The reason I'm wondering is because I really want to get this camera (and have heard that the book is invaluable) but I haven't quite got the cash for it yet! :(

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks. Lee

I just got confirmation on the new program. The $250 cash rebate has been discontinued. But, the DVX Book/DVD and Magic Bullet portion is being continued and they've also pumped up the software offerings.

The new software bundle is going to include three products from Red Giant Software:
Toonit 1.1 (MSRP $399)

Instant HD (MSRP $99)

Magic Bullet Looks 1.1 (MSRP $399)

Combined with the $69.95 MSRP of the DVX Book/DVD, they value the new rebate package at $966.95.

So i bought my camera about mid-September, and the paperwork says as long as you purchase before 30 Sept and mail it in within 60 days of purchase, you are good. So I am confident that I qualify for the rebate/software package. Does that mean I will get the new additional software as well, or was that purely to sweeten the deal for those that do not qualify for the cash? Which one do I now qualify for?

As I understand it, you will qualify for the rebate that was in effect when you bought, so that means the $250 cash rebate version, not the new one that was introduced in October.

That kinda sucks, the new rebate actually sounds like a better deal! Either way, it's cool that they give some extra goodies to sweeten the deal!

So if I'm understanding this correctly, I can submit my rebate info (I purchased my DVX in June of this year) and receive the new rebate?

If thats the case, I'm psyched! Thanks for the heads up Barry!!!

Also, should I just submit the original rebate form included with my camera? Or is there another rebate form I need to fill out to receive the new rebate offer?

No, your rebate is tied to your purchase date as far as I know. Whatever rebate was in effect when you bought, that is the rebate you'd be eligible for. I could be wrong, but this is the way I understand it.

Red Giant Software -Instant HD

Not to hijack your topic. But you mentioned Red Giant Software "Instant HD" and I was wondering how well it works. Anyone use it and get good results?

i'm wondering when panasonic will announce this. cuz i'm in the process of gettin my cam from spec comm but they are yet to hear any announcement about it. (even though Andrew said they will probably be able to work it out)
