DVX Problem - Audio and Video Skipping - Need Diagnosis

Shot this weekend and I went to capture and found that the video and audio were skipping every second or so. Tried another tape recorded before I had this problem and it skipped while playing on the DVX. Captured this weekend's tape with a properly functioning HVX and the tape gave the same problems.

Any ideas what the problem could be?
 
Could be a number of things. Could be a bad tape. Could be dirty heads on the DVX, or dirt inside the tape mechanism. Could be all of them.
