DVX PAL model for NTSC DVD's?

Is there any image quality/ color rendition improvement to be had when using a PAL version DVX edited using FCP5 for eventual use (distribution) on an NTSC DVD?

I've read the PAL version has higher resolution and better color rendition and was wondering if this is lost when an NTSC DVD is made from the source video.

The thing is that you loose a lot of quality when you convert the footage from PAL to NTSC.
One way you could maybe get a little better quality is to shoot 25p, conform the footage to 24p, resize and make a 24p DVD with NTSC resolution. With will, however, slow down you movie by 4% and I'm not sure if you can actually improve the quality. The resolutions get downscaled after all and the color rendering ... hmm ... I thought that was a broadcast issue, but I could be wrong.
Any other way of converting PAL to NTSC results in a pretty heavy quality loss, depending on the conversion soft/hardware.

Thanks for the info- I thought it was a simple matter of downrezzing a bit but I forgot about the 25FPS issue- OK thanks- I'll pass on a PAL unit then- thanks again.
