DVX or HD

Among other things I make local documentaries, some of which are sold to cable and/or distribution. I have used mostly the DVX100b which I enjoy.

However, I am considering HD, with that little JVC unit similarly priced to a new dvx.

I'd prefer to go with the dvx and mini-DV as it works for me and the video is fine but friends suggest I have to step up to HD sooner or later.

But I still like working with the dvx and know it well, going to HD means re-learning things and while I'm up for it, I'm not really sure I need to.

Any comments and/or suggestions or questions greatly appreciated.

If it's just for your hobby - stay DVX.

If you want to place the videos anywhere commercially then you have to be HD.

Standard Def is dead.
"It's always sunny in Philadelphia" really doesn't count - it's a magical little anomaly.

If you're talking about the JVC HM100 check out the HMC150. It's much more like a high-def DVX, you'd be right at home.
