DVX not recognised in capture mode

Edit: apparently the exact same cable doesnt work but another one does work...Will be taking that back to the shop.

Hi, I just got the dv cable and pcmi card and when I turn on the Camera to capture, it doesn't work...I can't find anywhere in the manual to help me.

Hi, I tried sony movie studio and windows movie maker :) Do I need a driver? It didnt come with one.
 
are you in VCR mode?
Is the camera attached and turned on before you launch the application?
 
Hey juju :)...It didnt work :( I dont know why...the comp says the device is working but the dvx doesnt seem to do it.
