Dear DVX100,

First of I want to say that I've missed you for these past two years. I made a big mistake by not purchasing you when I had the chance.

You ARE the cam for me!!

Yeah I know, I saw your big sister, the HVX200. She was new in town and I drawn to her familiar looks that reminded me of you.

Sure she looked great in the light and could shoot HD but in normal to dark light she turned into a... MONSTER!!!

Big mistake!!!

I missed your great low light sensitivity, smaller size and much lighter weight. My wrist misses you the most. Even you metal headphone jack and funny joystick you were special.

So I finally took a leap of faith and sold the HVX and search far and long for one of you.

Luckily I found you... thank heavens, in pretty good condition :)

This time I'm here to stay, for real.

They call this place DVXuser for a reason and I'm here to represent.

Yours truly,

Joe Green

A reformed cameraman.

Haha! Heart felt man.

I too will one day buy a DVX, long before they are a priced collectible.

The OG! (Original Game-changer!)

It was a very emotional experience.. LOL

:violin:
Yes, the DVX should be inducted into the camera hall of fame :)

OG: Original Gangsta :costumed-smiley-047... Game changer LOL For sure :

I knew that... hehe, that was my joke. ;)

Where did you get Jupiter Leo from? I have that, in the first house.

Aha... that's cool! Astrology is so interesting if you read the hardcore stuff. OK, I apologize for derailing the crap our of your awesome thread. :)

that was beautiful man (sniff, sniff) just beautiful. I'm gonna wipe off the dust and hug my DVX right now....

Sometimes I get a little sentimental when it comes to electronics :)

And those slow shutter speeds are a welcomed benefit when doing astrovideography!

This thread is too funny. After saying goodbye to my DVX100 and purchasing a Nikon d90, Canon 5dmkII, and also a Panasonic GH1, I started to miss my trusty DVX100. Yeah the other cameras are awesome and have great images...but they also comes with a lot of shortcomings.

I decided today to go back to the DVX world...yep, I purchased an awesome barely used DVX100...we are back again my friend... reunited....

Wow! I totally agree, we sometimes get lost in numbers and resolution but when it comes to features and usability the DVX is still king.

My DVX and I are going to hit the five year mark here in a couple of months. I think I have shot with about every camera between that and the RED/F900 level and going back to it always makes me smile. Just shot a short piece on the retirement of the UH-1 Helicopter with it on this past Friday and it just made me feel good to shoot with it.

Probably the only one piece of technology I have actually become attached too. I will never sell the little guy.
