DVX Movie Sleepover Nightmare at Blockbuster.

I figured you put the name "sleepover nightmare" just for sales reasons mostly. I'm sure there will be plenty of teenage boys who rent it based on the name alone. hell, I would have.

How did you go about getting distribution, or a deal through that company? And did you get a good deal or did the distrubution co. get the bulk of the payday?

And I think you should also get a Cheap Seats "Cheapie" award for that beer can stab effect.

Look forward to seeing your movie, Jarred! How was your experience with Think Films? Looks like they did a pretty decent job in getting you some mainstream distribution deals. Would you recommend Think Films to other filmmakers?
 
I haven't seen a penny from my distributor yet for The Fourth Beast. Netflix, Bestbuy.com, Amazon and others have it. We didn't get lucky and get a blockbuster deal though. I know they are selling decently for a $700 film. If you saw some money from it you did well. All I can say is shoot another one and make sure your name's all over it.

Sleepover Nightmare will be available in the New Orleans Tower Records soon, thanks to yours truly.

I went in to see if they had it in on the off chance.

They didn't and said that they could special order it and it would take two to six weeks.

I said nevermind I'll look for it online, but they ordered it anyway.

All DVXusers should just make a pact to go into at least one video store in the city where they live and request every full length feature made by any DVXuser when they drop (though I actually just wanted to impulse watch it tonight rather than wait to order it online).

HAHA, the distributors would be like, "WTF?"

yeah.. i think that happened with netflix. All you netflix guys qued it up and they where like WTF?.. they just ordered another unit 2 weeks ago to keep up with the demand, and a unit from netflix is 1000 copies. That place must of one hell of a warehouse.

Awesome - well I just ordered mine from Amazon. Plan on putting together a collection of DVX films.

yeah they pretty much summed it up, it is what it is, and wasnt trying to fool anyone, its a cheap, 80s slasher flick.
 
I finished the whole movie. In my previous post, I said that based on the first 10 min, it kind of sucked. Well, after watching the whole thing, I found it got much better towards the end. I still dont think it was great, but I started noticing the 80s homage. Frolicking in the pool and the big thumbs up afterwards, the warnings from the cranky old handyman, the love spats: no dripping wet rotting ghost kids jumping from the TV here :)

The Italians have the zombie/witchcraft, the Japanese have the ghost story: America can be proud of its escaped mental patients roaming the woods in search of the sexualy active.

Not great, but in sum much better than most DTV horror.
 
Just watched it.

I don't know why some of these people were expecting a gourmet pastry from something that never claims to be anything more than a twinky.

It was a decent twinky.

One big gripe:
1 Dude's bare but
0 Bare Boobs!
That blows any genre authenticity right out of the water.

I may have more intelligent comments later. (but don't hold your breath) Now, I'm late for work.
 
the shed scene got pretty hot during filming :) but all the good stuff was cut. Dont worry, i put in a good fight but it didnt go very far.
